About Tapley Ergonomics.
Tapley Ergonomics is run by Sarah Tapley, a Chartered occupational ergonomist, who has extensive experience of identifying, advising, inspecting and investigating occupational health safety and ergonomic issues across the whole spectrum of working environments in the UK. This experience was gained from over 20 years working for HSE as a Specialist Inspector.
She holds an MSc in Health Ergonomics, PG diploma in Occ H&S and the C&G City and Guilds 7303 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
She is a registered member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, a Graduate Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and is a Registered Consultant on the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register.
Sarah helped to produce several current HSE guidance documents on musculoskeletal disorders including L23, HSG60, MAC charts and the ART tool. She has also written and helped produce industry specific guidance, for example manual baggage handling in the aviation sector, movement of carpets in the retail sector, manual handling in care homes.
Sarah has supported enforcement and prepared expert reports for fatal accidents, manual handling cases, suitability of quayside ladders, lashing of freight containers onboard ships. She has also researched and helped write international guidance for the aviation industry on manual baggage handling and spoken at international conferences and seminars on this issue.
She has experience of presenting and training on a one to one or group situation and has helped organise conferences and edited conference proceedings.
Tapley Ergonomics has a network of associates in ergonomics, occupational psychology, occupational physiotherapy, occupational medicine, and health and safety who can work with them to support large projects.
